About Invisible Defaults

Every organisation has patterns running through it that nobody talks about.

Not because they're hidden. Because they're so embedded in how things work that nobody thinks to question them. They show up in how decisions get made, how people communicate under pressure, how teams perform — or don't — when the stakes are high.

Most leaders never see them. Not because they're not smart enough. Because they're too close.

I see them. That's what this is about.

Who writes this

I'm Kristen Enright — culture and leadership advisor, Director of Culture & Learning at SGEi, and founder of KE Consulting.

I've spent 20+ years working inside leadership cultures across five continents — from Wall Street and elite U.S. law enforcement to Fortune 500 boardrooms, Canadian healthcare, and hospitality across the Pacific. I've worked with emerging managers and C-suite executives. Family businesses and global organisations. High-growth startups and institutions that have been running for a century.

Different contexts. Same patterns.

Invisible Defaults is where I share what I see — the thinking, the frameworks, and the honest observations from the work. Some of it will resonate. Some of it will challenge. Either way, it's worth the conversation.

What you'll find here

Real stories from the work — with names and details changed to protect the people in them. Thinking on leadership, culture, communication and what actually drives performance. Tools and frameworks you can use. The things most consultants don't say out loud.

No noise. No marketing. No content calendar with manufactured insights.

Just what I'm seeing — when I'm seeing it.
